Lighter Journeys

Privacy during the preview

Last updated September 29, 2026

Lighter Journeys is in a private preview run by Chris Harris. This page explains, in plain words, what happens to the recordings you upload. Questions or requests: chris@charristech.com.

What we store

Where it is stored and processed

Recordings and results are stored in Microsoft Azure in the East US 2 region. Transcription and analysis run on Lighter Journeys's own servers there. We do not send your recordings or transcripts to third-party AI services, and we do not use them to train models.

Who can see it

Retention and deletion

Recordings stay until you delete them. Deleting a recording removes the video, its analyses, reports and share links; stored files are removed straight away, with follow-up checks that catch anything left behind. A small record that the recording existed (its identifiers and your usage count) is kept so usage limits stay accurate. You can delete your account from the account menu: that deletes your personal workspace and every recording in it. Recordings you uploaded to a team workspace belong to that team and stay until the team deletes them or the workspace itself is deleted, which deletes all of its recordings. For help, contact chris@charristech.com. If the preview ends, we will tell you before deleting anything.

Editing a recording does not change your original upload. Sections you remove stop appearing in the recording and their analysis data is deleted, but they stay in the original upload until you delete the recording. If you split a recording into parts, the original upload is deleted when the last part is deleted.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we keep your email address and anything else you chose to tell us (name, company, role, what you would like to measure, and where you heard about Lighter Journeys), only to invite you and send occasional product news. We never sell it. To be removed, contact chris@charristech.com; we delete the entry.

Recording other people

Only upload recordings you have the right to share. If a recording shows or narrates other people, or contains personal or confidential information, make sure you have their consent and that your organization allows it.
